Duff Goldman was born December 17, 1974 to Jackie Winch and Morrie Goldman. Originally born Jeffery, the nickname Duff was given to him by his younger brother who, as a toddler, could not pronounce his older brother's name correctly and instead called him "Duff".
His life as a chef began at 4 when his mother caught him with a meat cleaver and a television set to Chef Tell. At age 14, Duff began his professional cooking career. In his early years, Duff studied at Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C. During this time, he became a somewhat well known graffiti artist.
